Dinosaur Jr.

It is hard to believe, but it was more than 20 years ago when Dinosaur first roamed the back roads and byways of central Massachusetts. J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph formed their now legendary band in the sleepy college town of Amherst, MA. They went on to change the face of rock forever, whether they actually ever intended to or not.

Dinosaur Jr. laid the groundwork for a seismic shift in underground rock. Over the next decade their sound would become the sonic blueprint for what would become known as ìalternative rockî. Some folks called it the perfect union of Sonic Youth and Neil Young, and when itís all said and done thatís as good a reference point as any. The original line up dissolved after recording just three LPís. The friction between Mascis and Barlow was so heated that the two barely spoke for over 15 years, Barlow even penned raged-filled songs about the split.

Following their very successful, and highly unlikely 2005 reunion, the members of Dinosaur Jr. soldiered on into 2006 bringing their blistering live show to all corners of the globe. Since the unlikely reunion began the band has played sold out shows all across North America, Europe, Japan and Australia. Despite being apart for so many years recent live reviews almost universally suggest that the legendary trioís stage-show is stronger, louder and tighter than ever.
